Thanks to Matt for pointing out some wildly irresponsible journalism. I'm always amazed that editors go with these stories (and write these kinds of headlines!) but maybe if we shame them enough over time, they'll tone it down. Anybody know who the editor was on this piece?

the fears are misplaced. i think that google print will actually improve the sales, rather cause paucity of funds for the hospital. journalism is nowadays almost completely of the sensationalist type...so its not surprising to see the hype.

This is what I have to say to the editor of this piece ....

You probably just wanted to report news ... and that's fair .... but as a responsible journalist may be you should be careful about the SPIN you put on your news .... is it a news piece that will give techno-phobes another reason to hate tech .... or can you instead spin the news to say "How tech scares the rest of us, without real reason" .... because that what it is .... an unfounded irrational fear ....

Responsible journalism is not just about reporting facts, but also presenting an opinion that will not scare the daylights out of the less informed ...

Spin it right, mister.
