Lewis Taylor finally shows up
October 25, 2005
It's really weird that after years of kicking around the industry Lewis Taylor finally shows up, apparently charting in some places. It's even been enough that I finally signed up for MySpace so I could follow what's going on there...
The record is his old one, Stoned, though I guess it just finally got U.S. distribution. Curious to see if there's any audience for this, which would confirm my hypothesis that audiences other than VH1 viewers at 3 in the morning are ready for neo-soul, just as long as it's presented by a British guy. I dunno what it says about demographics that I don't see any of his stuff on the preferred music stealing service. I must be getting old.

Some, like me, discovered Lewis Taylor through Kruder and Dorfmeister's remixes, they aren't exactly a household name either! Taylor's affinity for naming his albums one word I and II aren't exactly music stealing friendly. Stoned was great, Stoned II even better in my opinion. I'd like to hear this.
Yeah that's always been really weird to me, I've been a superlewisfan for 5 years now, and in all that time he has remained invisible in the mp3 delivery devices, tho i know he has the ill cult following..
i remember when i first heard him in 2001 i went to audiogalaxy or win-mx or whatever, and could only find the kruder and dorfmeister "lucky" remix and the "18 with a bullet" duet with carleen anderson.. and when i search today in the place i won't jinx by naming it, i find those same 2 songs and that's it..
