Over the next decade the San Francisco Municipal Railway plans to build four entirely new subway stations, but I doubt they will do anything beyond the absolute minimum they can get away with. Caltrain will build two and I'm sure they will be functional and well laid out, but doubt they will be world class stations.
Some of our stations have as many as a quarter million people pass through every day, but none hold a candle to some of the architecture we have above ground in San Francisco.
