Everybody Loves Me!
March 27, 2005
I have received the following comments on posts from my Pop Life blog. Though they're ostensibly aimed at the celebrities I discuss on the blog, I prefer to think they're aimed at me.

I'll do my best! I bet you look great in my clothes.
i think you need your head examined or something.. because mandy is not another britney spears or christina aguilera it doesn't mean that she is not good in what she is doing (acting and singing) she has real talent! And in the end she did win britney spears in the 2002 MTV movie awards for Best Breakthough Female fir her role as jamie in a walk to remember..
A walk to remember influenced alot of people (including me) to do something good and change their way of thinking!!
Oh, wait, hmm. That one actually was aimed at me. It's true, though, my feelings on Mandy Moore do justify a psychological exam.
Well, usually I go by "Anil", not "Nelly", but I'm not picky.
If people ever start being web-saavy enough to understand the difference between a post about someone and a post by that person, it'll be a sad day.

I have a hip-hop site. So those comments are basically my life. Funniest? One user begged Mase to pay her bills in my comment section. See:

Oh man, I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets these comments where people think I'm Johnny Depp/Elijah Wood/Orlando Bloom/R. Kelly/Random Pop Punk Bands. I think the funniest thing that ever happened was when a bunch of teeny bopper girls got in a fight over who was the biggest Elijah Wood fan. I had to close the comments it was getting so much traffic.
I get stuff like that all the time whenever I blog about some actor or singer. It's insane, lol.
Last year, I did this sort of coverage of Arab Superstar (The Arab version of American Idol), and I got thousands of such comments.
At some point, you do start believing they're for you :P
Hey, you are the one that moved to California, nelly ba-bee. (insert evil grin smilie here)
I have about ten weblogs: four on sexuality.
Over the years I've been denounced for fighting school prayer in the Supreme Court. Thanked for my Shotime series Bullshit! And countless boys who've fallen in love for my role as Lana Lang on Smallville have asked for my phone number.
And the searches for photos my naked male/female body seem to never end.
Man, I felt so guilty that, when I was reviewing other sites at silktide.com, your personal blog appeared and I didn't recognize who you were (your name did ring a bell). So I decided to google 'Who is Anil Dash?', and then turned to Googlism you (http://www.googlism.com/index.htm?ism=anil+dash). Now I see, you are a "damned fine writer". =)
Then, the last definition of you was the one I liked most, and :
"anil dash is an information systems and information design professional specializing in usability and data presentation".
'OIC' was my response. ^_^
I need to read the news and other blogs more... :S
