eBay's just launched eBay Pulse, kinda similar to Google's Zeitgeist, but listing what particular kinds of crap eBay buyers are inflicting on their loved ones this holiday season.

There's also some nice looks at the highest priced and most watched items. A good starting point for journalists to peg their trend-watching stories on.

I'd much rather see the top 10 search phrases than just single keywords. The fact that CD and DVD were 1 and 2 doesn't really tell me much.

I hope the $300k+ Canon digital camera is a mistake. Even at 11MP that's a little steep.

Interesting feature, but does it provide value to an eBay customer?

I can see how a seller could use it, to validate if their wares are worth selling, but can't you already do that just by scouring eBay as it is?

Too bad that most of the stuff featured on the Pulse is complete garbage, a scam, or something ridiculous.
