My guess is that it's probably not an intelligent idea to mandate teaching intelligent design... angry parents can be brutal. (Via Anil)... Read More

Lucky you... I still live in this backwards-ass place. It's funny how so many people around here fear change so much, yet when they try to change they have some pretty bad ideas or make decisions that don't stretch far enough into the future to make it worth while. I never knew you lived around here.

Between that and the Georgia book label thing, it all drives me crazy. I don't mind them teaching evolution. I don't mind them teaching creationism. But teach both, put stickers on books for both, or mandate both, or mandate neither.

I'm all for a well rounded educaiton, but the religous factions need to stay out of it and leave it to the teachers.

Hey, if you want to mandate that creationism be tought in school due to your religous beliefs so kids are "well rounded"; fine. Why don't you start teaching evolution in Sunday school?

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If you're going to teach creationism, which religoun do you pick?

Before you know it, the kids will have to start calling dinosaurs "Jesus horses".

I'd love to take credit for that because its genius, but I have to say I heard it on SNL.

I forgot about that "Jesus horse" bit on SNL. That just made my day all over again.

(...also suffering with Jonathon in this backwards-ass place.)
