Google's new text-based microad service looks really, really interesting, but why do the Program Policies specifically state "AdWords ads may not appear on personal pages"?

Question for Google Legal: What defines whether a site is personal?

I tried to sign up for the program, but it wouldn't let me finish my application unless I entered a company name. I'm assuming this is required for tax reasons

Can 601am Enterprises, LLC be far behind?

A guy I know from a weblist has been running them on his personal site for some time, like this article here, but I think he's got an LLC thing going.

We've been thinking of putting Gothamist under an off-shore LLC, but we've been pretty lazy about it.

Curiously enough, I was first rejected a few days ago for my Mars blog at http://www.martiansoil.com and then they just sent me an acceptance email.

Not sure if I'm going to end up using them though, they're a little on the ugly side.

I've just read an article that seems to suggest that Google Adsense will NOT be as effective because viewers on a non-search site won't be in the SEARCH mode, and even if they click on the link, may not order. This will equal poor returns on investment for advertisers, which will then spell failure of the concept.

Plus the $100 minimum payout seems steep to me, considering my site doesn't get very high traffic.
