I gave it to my dad after despairing of getting him to learn Paint Shop Pro. He seems to be pretty happy with it for really basic photo cleanup, but I don't think he's doing anything especially complicated.

gack.
Holy crap that's dumb of them. Maybe try this link.
Picture it! Express (now including obnoxious ads for the full version!) comes as standard with Works these days. I've used it on my parents computer for perhaps, 5, maybe 6 minutes. Then I installed Gimp for Windows and had done with it. It's slow, bloated and not particularly special.
It also seems particualrly attached to bizzare formats like BMP.
Well, those are pretty boxes (all links to actual content are windows-restricted)
Not to get all platformy, but iPhoto is a great thing for grandparents. For email/web users who might be getting a few digital photos, it's worth getting a mac and a $80-150 photo-printer. iPhoto alone has convinced several of my relatives to switch to OS X. Musical slideshows make them really happy and printing is a breeze.
Yeah... it comes with Walmart photo cd's. I'm not such a huge fan of it though. It's obnoxious and a memory hog. I stick to Photoshop for all of my editing needs.
came with my father's HP blah blah whatever it was, along with other microsoft crap. was supposed to be full product, turns out it was missing a cd.
great for kids (4-10) to fool around with though.
Hi!
I used picture it and also the pro version (10). Some of the advantages could not be reached by any other editing software and that is - e.g. how to make a funny mask photo of your girlfriend in space ( well to take her face and paste it seamlessly into Spaceman´s suit). Well in photoshop or any other plugins, you´l need at least 15 min in pictuer-it just about 3-5 min. Now I´m using OSX because of other things but I miss the speed and simplicity of picture it! But as far as I know, there is no similar appl. on OSX platform. So, from that point of view, there are some good stuff from the Microsoft as well!
Best regards!
